Made of 100% acrylic, it keeps heat in. You just pull it on, and you’re set. This design is almost the same as the Ryder Cup beanies from this year. One size fits all for these beanies. You should only wash this by hand.

What golf hats do pros wear?

If you want to model your style after certain golfers, you have plenty of options to choose from. Of course, it all will depend on what feels comfortable to you. But if you want to look like the pros, here are some golfers who wear specific hats styles.

Many golfers frequent visors on Tour. Bubba Watson, Ian Poulter, Phil Mickelson, Michelle Wie, and Lexi Thompson are just a few of the golfers who have been known to wear visors while playing. In addition, Larry Mize and Sandy Lyle each won the Masters while wearing visors in the 1980s.

Straw hats

Without question, two golfers made straw hats famous. Sam Snead initially brought it to the forefront of the golf world, and later, Greg Norman sported it during his career.

These can help keep your face and neck protected from the sun.

Driver Hats

As we discussed, Bryson DeChambeau has made this a popular look in recent years. But he isn’t the only player who enjoys the driver hat. Ben Hogan won nine major championships and frequented the flat cap. Payne Stewart, winner of three majors, also preferred this hat style.

Golf Cap

The most common hat on Tour and courses near you, the golf cap is the easiest to find in a pro shop or sporting good store. Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, and Justin Thomas are just a few golfers who like this style. You can also choose the Rickie Fowler option that has a flat brim.

Do pro golfers have to wear hats?

No requirement says a pro golfer has to wear a hat on Tour. Many will wear them because of sponsorship deals, but before sponsorship deals became widespread, many didn’t wear hats at all. Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus are amongst the greatest golfers, and neither frequently wore hats. Nowadays, it’s rarer, but there are rounds where golfers don’t wear hats. Ryder Cup battles throughout the years have seen golfers like Lee Westwood, Thomas Pieters, and Graeme McDowell foregoing a cap.

How much should you spend on a golf hat?

You can get golf hats for relatively cheap prices. The minimum you want to spend on one is around $15. That goes for caps and visors. That way, you know it is made of some quality material and will not quit on you after a short time. More name-brand options will run you a little bit more in terms of dollars. But adding those to your outfit can complete the look. If you want to go with a bucket hat, straw hat, or magnetic ball marker cap, they will be a bit more expensive. But you don’t need to spend $50 on a hat that you may see at a course’s pro shop.

Wrapping It Up and Heading to the Clubhouse

Wearing a hat while playing golf helps you protect your skin and keep the sun out of your eyes. It also helps to tie your outfit together. There are a variety of hat styles that you can choose from, including caps, visors, bucket hats, driver caps, and beanies. Model your hat after your favorite golfer, or blaze your own path.
