5 Best Golf Push Carts of 2022 (For every budget)

You won’t have to spend much time convincing me that walking is the best way to play golf. Walking the course gives you exercise, time to think about your shots, and a great appreciation of the outdoors. However, walking and carrying a golf bag can be a bit of a nuisance. Not only does your bag start to get tired, but you may be doing damage to your knees as well. The best solution is a golf push cart.

Golf push carts have come a long way from the rusty metal ones always used as rentals at a golf course. The newest golf push carts on the market are easy to maneuver, have excellent storage, and will make your round much more enjoyable.

I have put together some of my favorite choices for a golf push cart in 2022; there is an option on this list for all budgets.

Everything about the new Caddy Tek 4 Wheel Golf Push Cart is a choice for the golfer that loves to walk the course. Whether you are spending your days on a flat golf course or walking with hills, the Caddy Tek still has the technology necessary to perform.

One of my favorite features of the Caddy Tek is the one-click fold. When you are done with a round and loading your car up, the last thing you want is to take apart the push cart. With this one button click, you will get the cart into a compact size that weighs less than 17 pounds.

The wheels on the Caddy Tek are large, which allows you to put even your heavy cart bag on the push cart and have no issues getting it around the course. I also notice that there is plenty of traction on the wheels and the cart rarely feels as though it is going to tip or spill over. With the 27 inch wide body, you can feel confident that your clubs are balanced and well cared for.

You will notice rather quickly that accessories are the name of the game when it comes to golf push carts. If you want to enjoy your round to the fullest, look for the cart to have lots of great features and accessories. This Caddy Tek 4 Wheel has a scorecard holder, storage compartment, beverage/cell phone holder, and a mesh net.

  • Has multiple pushing positions
  • It comes with a foot, brake
  • Very stable design
  • It can accommodate even larger golf bags

If you have not been paying attention, the price of golf push carts has recently gone up considerably. The ability to walk a golf course is getting more and more appealing. Golfers also can realize that walking is much cheaper than taking a cart; therefore, the pricing of push carts has also gone up.

If you want a high-quality push cart for a meager price, the JEF World of Golf Deluxe Steel Push cart is a great option to consider. The cart is very lightweight, and it is sturdy as well. You will have no issues moving it around the course because of the wider wheels. The wide wheels also help to accommodate a large golf bag if needed.

The JEF World of Golf push cart will not have the same number of features and accessories as other golf cart options, but it does have a waterproof scorecard holder. However, this is probably not the best choice for those who walk the course every day and want attachments and features.

Pros

  • Very low pricing
  • A simple model that closes and opens with ease
  • High-quality steel that will not rust

Cons

  • Does not have storage or umbrella holder

For golfers who walk the course quite often, having a premium golf push cart can make sense. The best thing about the premium carts is that there is less difficult steering and more stability. In addition, the carts tend to feel quite a bit lighter and easier to push around the course. The Sun Mountain Golf Speed Cart GX is my favorite choice if money is not an issue.

Although this golf push cart tends to cost a bit more, it has an upper and lower bracket to accommodate almost any golf bag. In addition, there is a new handle that will help to increase the amount of storage that you can get with this golf push cart. The Omada Golf Trilite Foldable Golf Push Cart is a great solution. This push cart weighs only 14 pounds.

Even some of the other so-called lightweight options on the market are typically closer to 20 pounds. Having to fold this OMADA model takes seconds, and it is a very compact fold that will fit in any car.

If you want to make things even easier on yourself, there is always the option of an electric push cart. Expect a big jump in price when you move from the manual push cart to the electric push cart. However, the convenience of not having to push your bag around the course could be a good option for some.

The Cart Tek Electric Golf Push Cart with remote control has several different ways to be used. The remote, trolley, and free wheel mode give you some choices for use on the course. The cart comes with a 24-volt lithium-ion battery that will last for 36 holes without a charge.

The battery is easy to take care of and will make owning this cart a breeze. The entire setup is ready to go in less than a minute. If you have a lot of gear and want to bring all of your accessories out to the course with you, this is a great option to consider. You won’t be lugging the extra weight, and there is plenty of room to attach any accessory you would like.

Pros

  • It comes with a high power long-lasting battery
  • Ability to attach a lot of accessories
  • The remote control is easy to use

Cons

  • Pricing is higher as it is electric
  • Battery and cart weight a little more than manual push carts

How To Chose The Right Push Cart (What To Consider)

Now that you have a better idea of which carts stand out as the best on the market, it’s a good idea to start narrowing down what matters the most to you. Are you interested in walking every day, or is this just a one-time event? Let’s take a look at some of the things you should consider before purchasing a golf push cart.

3 Wheel vs. 4 Wheel

Golf push carts typically come in 3 wheel or a 4 wheel option. The 3 wheel option has the benefit of being easier to maneuver. If you have trouble turning corners with your bag on a cart or trying to get up a hill, the 3 wheel cart could be a better choice.

However, the 3 wheel cart will lack a bit of stability. The 4 wheel cart is very stable, a better choice for heavy bags and golf courses with a lot of sidehill lies. Also, remember that with a 4 wheel cart, you will likely have a slightly heavier golf push cart to maneuver.

Manual vs. Electric Golf Push Cart

The manual golf push carts require a person to push them around the course. The electric golf push carts have a battery that is charged before a round, and then they can maneuver themselves around the course. The benefit of the electric carts is that they are easier to get around the course; the negative, of course, is the pricing.

If you are serious about walking but have a bag back or neck or knees, the electric cart could be a good choice. With the electric golf push cart, you won’t have hardly any strain, and you can still get quite a few steps in as you make your way around the course.

Pricing

The pricing of golf push carts is fairly straightforward. If you are looking for something that has lots of features and easy maneuverability, you will pay more money. If you want to get around the golf course, then something like the Jef Wolrd of Golf push cart would be just fine.

Storage

If you don’t want to store all of your gear in your golf bag, look for a push cart with lots of storage. One of my favorite storage options is the mesh bag that many carts will hang under the golf bag. This is where you can put your jacket, water bottle, shoe bag, and more. The weight won’t really even be felt, and this is a convenient and not obstructive place to keep all of your gear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few questions that I am often asked about golf push carts and making sure that you choose the right one for your game.

How Should I Use A Golf Push Cart: Push vs. Pull?

Most golfers will find that with a modern golf push cart, it makes sense to push the cart as opposed to pull it. If you get a cart with excellent steering and an adjustable handle, you will learn to walk with the cart in front of you, and you will barely feel the weight of it. Push carts are an excellent solution for golfers, and it is certainly easier to keep the cart in front of you.

Do All Golf Courses Allow Push Carts?

Most golf courses love the idea of push carts as compared to an electric ride on golf carts. The push carts do very little damage to the turf and help golfers get around the course quickly. Always pay attention to the local rules regarding push carts, but you should be able to use them quite often.

Is It Cheaper To Buy Or Rent A Push Cart?

If you play golf often, it will be cheaper to purchase a push cart. With the new materials these carts are made of, they should last you ten years or more. This is quite a few rounds of golf that you can play with just one push cart. Always make sure to clean and inspect your push cart from time to time to ensure that it lasts you for years to come.

Conclusion

Hopefully, you now have a better idea as to which golf push cart could be the best for your needs. The Caddy Tek 4 Wheel is my favorite option. The stability of the 4 wheels, the room for all of your gear, and the overall durability of this model make it an incredible choice. Whether you play once a week or once a day, this is a cart that you will be quite happy with. The benefits to your golf game and your health will be well worth the price you pay for this caddy.
